Washington, D.C. – October 18, 2017 – Competitive Carriers Association (CCA), the nation’s leading association for competitive wireless providers and stakeholders, and RapidSOS, an advanced emergency communications company, today announced a partnership to provide CCA members access to RapidSOS technology integrations with IoT devices. CCA members can now opt-in to offering customers unprecedented access to emergency services through RapidSOS’ IoT integrations.

“Today’s carriers are transforming beyond pure connectivity providers and are bringing new value-add services to their customers,” said CCA President & CEO Steven K. Berry. “We are excited to partner with RapidSOS, a new CCA member, to give carriers the opportunity to enhance the safety and security of the millions of Americans that they serve.”

RapidSOS technology sits behind millions of connected devices, providing a rich data link to 911 and first responders from home security systems, connected cars, smartphones, and wearable devices. Through these integrations, users can request emergency services after devices detect an adverse event — e.g., home sensors that detect a fire, wearable health monitoring that detect an adverse medical event, cars that detect a crash, and more.

“CCA’s members are uniquely tied to their local citizens and public safety communities,” said RapidSOS CEO Michael Martin. “Partnering with CCA is core to our mission of working with local communities to transform emergency response and keep our nation safe.”
