As this year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a happy new year and reflect on our 5 favorite memories from 2015.

1. Series-A Funding

We truly wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our investors from Highland Capital Partners and Two Sigma Ventures. Having experts from these firms by our side has helped us make very important decisions and will continue to provide critical guidance for us as the company grows and we publicly launch Haven in 2016.

2. The Move to NYC

We moved the company from Boston to our own office in the Big Apple this summer. Being in New York has opened us up to new opportunities and has been a fantastic experience so far. Although sometimes we don’t have enough conference rooms for all the meetings going on, we have used our creativity to find new places to meet!

3. Feature in The New York Times

We are so thrilled that we were on the cover of The New York Times Entrepreneurship section in October. Moments like these really show us how far we have come and we are grateful for any opportunity we are given to share with the world what we are doing. Thank you again Glenn Rifkin for the wonderful piece!

4. 9-1-1/PSAP Webinar

In December, we held a webinar for members of the 9-1-1 community in order to share how our technology works with the existing 9-1-1 infrastructure. We received great feedback from this webinar and one member of the 9-1-1 community even said, “I have seen several of the ‘911 apps’ and yours is by far the most impressive I’ve seen yet.”

We are so thankful for the support we have received from the 9-1-1 community and we can’t wait to continue to collaborate and work together in years to come!

5. Beta Launch

9-1-1 calling went live for beta testers of the Haven app in early December. We always hope that no one has an emergency, but if a user does, they can now use the app to contact 9-1-1 dispatchers.

This release was limited to our early Kickstarter supporters and our partners in the 9-1-1 community – the calltakers, dispatchers and responders who save lives every day, but we can’t wait to release the app to the public in early 2016! Pre-register for Haven now to be among the first to know when the app is ready for download.
