- TrueMotion announces a partnership with RapidSOS and is now recognized as RapidSOS Ready
- Through this partnership, TrueMotion sends life-saving data directly to 911 through the RapidSOS Platform after a car crash
Boston, MA – March 3, 2021 ー TrueMotion, the leading smartphone-only driving data platform, today announced a partnership with RapidSOS to connect car crash detection data with 911 personnel. Built in partnership with public safety, RapidSOS’s emergency response data platform securely and automatically links life-saving data from connected devices to over 5,200 Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) nationwide.
Technology has dramatically improved our lives over the last 60 years, except for when we need it most. ECCs in the U.S. and around the world rely on the limited information a phone call can provide and the result is often delays in dispatching and first responders arriving on-scene, under-informed.
Anyone can activate TrueMotion’s car crash detection and emergency response when they download a mobile app powered by TrueMotion’s crash technology. By partnering with RapidSOS, TrueMotion-powered apps will be able to connect users or monitoring center agents with 911 and share incident-specific data from the TrueMotion telematics platform with first responders. When a TrueMotion-powered app detects a vehicle crash, the user will receive a mobile app prompt or an automated outbound call offering emergency services. If the user needs help, they’ll be connected with 911. If the user doesn’t respond to the app prompt or the call, a monitoring center agent will connect with 911 and send emergency services to the location of the crash for a wellness check.
If emergency services are needed, available data will be simultaneously delivered to first responders via the RapidSOS Platform. This may include crash detection time, incident location, and the driver’s name and contact information. This emergency intelligence data provides first responders with the contextual awareness and critical information needed to power a faster and more effective response.
“Too many people don’t get the help they need after a car crash, either due to a lack of accurate location information or because they can’t call 911. TrueMotion’s automatic car crash detection saves lives because it gets people the help they need, fast,” said Cornelius Young, VP of Claims for TrueMotion. “Working with our auto insurance, automotive, and security partners, our new partnership with RapidSOS will provide even more people access to this critical service than ever before.”
“We’re united in our commitment to create a safer, stronger future where technology and people work together seamlessly to protect and save lives,” said Jessica Reed, VP of Strategy and Global Partnerships at RapidSOS. “Together with innovative companies like TrueMotion, we’re providing drivers and passengers with an added layer of peace of mind and we’re supporting our heroic first responders in saving millions of lives annually.”
With the launch of this solution, TrueMotion technology will be recognized as RapidSOS Ready – allowing critical data to be sent directly to local 911 agencies in an emergency through the RapidSOS Platform. To learn more about the solution, visit gotruemotion.com.
