Today I was able to pull Jeff away from his work for just 10 minutes to ask him a few questions for our weekly team member spotlight!

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: I went to Boston University where I majored in Computer Engineering.

Q: What is your position at RapidSOS?

A: I’m a backend developer.

Q: Why did you want to work at RapidSOS?

A: I wanted to work at a small company where I would have a large impact. I also wanted to work for an organization whose mission was beyond just trying to make a profit. RapidSOS is working to save lives and I love that I am a part of that.

Q: What is the best part about working at RapidSOS?

A: It’s just a really fun team with a lot of great personalities. I love coming to work everyday to work with the people here.

Q: Which project that you have worked on at RapidSOS are you most proud of?

A: I’m most proud of the work I have done on the iOS app to make the call experience more reliable and more understandable.

Q: Where do you see RapidSOS in 5 years?

A: I see RapidSOS managing 9-1-1 calls for the major cell service carriers and also integrating into the internet of things.

Q: What is the most interesting project you have ever worked on?

A: My senior design project in college was working on an algorithm that uses GPU computing to compile hours and hours of security video into a 10 minute long video. That way, people who have to watch the security footage can watch all the important events that happened in just 10 minutes, without having to fast-forward over and over again.

Q: What is the best part about living and working in NYC?

A: You can go anywhere at any time… and there are unlimited options when you are deciding what to eat.

Check back next week to see our next spotlight, and in the meantime, stay safe with Haven!
