Who is Mindbase?Â
Mindbase is the first and only solution of its kind on the market today, integrating real-time CAD and RMS data into a powerful proactive and data-driven mental health and wellness platform. We believe in improving first responder health and well-being by bringing people, knowledge, and intelligent technology together. Mindbase is more than a platform, it’s a mission to end the mental health crisis facing our nation’s first responders, including the first, first responders in 911 centers answering critical calls for service. We invite you to join us on our journey as we change the mental health landscape for our friends in public safety.
What challenge is Mindbase aiming to solve?
Public Safety occupations are some of the most dangerous psychological jobs in the world. Telecommunicators and other public safety officials are at an increased risk of suicide and mental illness due to hazardous conditions, traumatic events, and everyday job requirements.
- ECC’s are facing historic employee retention and recruiting challenges with staffing shortages reaching critical levels.
- 70% of first responders report some level of burnout and compassion fatigue.
- As many as 37% of first responders have considered suicide, a rate 10 times higher than the national average.
- Mental illness rates are ten times what they were two decades ago and increasing exponentially.
- The current average career as a telecommunicator is 3 years and declining (6 years and declining for other public safety professions).
There is hope and there is help available. Resilience training and peer support programs have proven effective, but staffing issues and lack of training time make them difficult to implement. At Mindbase, we provide educational resources and purpose-built technology tools to help remove the effort required to start and run an effective peer support and wellness program. People help people. Our solution was built from the ground up by former first responders and vetted clinicians to augment and enhance the service peer support leaders are able to provide.Â
We offer personal, confidential, and customizable mental health resources that are available 24/7. There are many point products (wellness apps, EAPs, written assessments, etc.) available, but we have developed the first completely integrated mental health and wellness technology platform on the market today, a virtual one-stop shop to establishing a healthier and more resilient Emergency Communications Center.Â
What is the Mindbase and RapidSOS solution?Â
Mindbase is integrated into the RapidSOS portal to enable telecommunicators to easily access critical mental health resources confidentially while on shift or at home. Our web portal can be accessed directly from within RapidSOS at the click of a button or on a personal Android or iOS device. We’re focused on developing mission-ready minds on the job, at home, or wherever life might take you. The personal wellness of first responders has never been more important, we are eager to partner with forward-thinking and innovative leaders in public safety. When you are ready to take your peer support and wellness program to the next level, we are confident our suite of technology tools and training resources will be the catalyst to achieving your wellness initiatives.
Why did Mindbase become RapidSOS Ready?Â
We joined the RapidSOS Partner Network because our goals align tightly with their desire to help those in need. RapidSOS delivers essential data to the right person and the right place when it matters most. At Mindbase, we are monitoring real-time CAD and RMS data with the goal of delivering essential mental health resources to the right person at the right time. Similar to RapidSOS, our goal is to help the helper. RapidSOS links life-saving data to 911 and first responders – Mindbase links those same first responders to life-saving mental health resources and personalized care from clinicians and peer support personnel. RapidSOS’s national reach combined with their commitment to saving lives makes them a critical partner in assisting us here at Mindbase to getting our essential life-saving mental health resources to the right person at the right time.Â
What is Mindbase looking forward to in this partnership?
We are proud to partner with RapidSOS whose goals so tightly align with ours. There is an urgent need for the resources that Mindbase and RapidSOS provide and RapidSOS will assist us in extending our reach to nearly every ECC in the nation. As citizens, we owe it to our friends in public safety to protect not only their physical health but their mental health as well. Our combined work has never been more critical and by leveraging the knowledge, reach and expertise of the amazing employees and leaders at RapidSOS, we will reach our goal of changing the mental health landscape for those who serve us in the critical roles within public safety.
