What is the RespondR App?
Created by the team at Parrot Health, RespondR is a personal safety app that is miles (and minutes) ahead of other solutions. The app is designed to be easy to use in an emergency and provides peace of mind for users and their loved ones.

Traditionally, when someone dials 911 from a cell phone virtually no information about the caller is sent to dispatchers. With RespondR’s Emergency Call feature, users are connected to the nearest 911 center which digitally receives life-saving information about the caller. By partnering with RapidSOS, RespondR sends information such as the exact location, demographics, and medical profiles of users.

RespondR is available on both iOS and Android and offers plans and peace of mind for individuals and families. RespondR is also used by large member organizations such as the New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau.

What challenge is RespondR solving?
RespondR began as an idea after a family friend suffered a stroke. Even though his phone was within reach, he was unable to communicate his emergency to 911 or loved ones.

This led to us looking at personal safety solutions to protect our loved ones in case something similar occurred. However, we noticed that the technology was severely outdated for something so important. Traditional solutions:

  • are highly inaccurate when it comes to location
  • have no way of sending digital data to 911
  • often outsource emergency calls to third parties in another country

Despite adding crucial minutes to response times, traditional solutions also come at a price many simply cannot afford.

The team at Parrot Health was determined to find a better way to provide timely help in emergencies, and RespondR was born.

What is the RespondR and RapidSOS Solution?
Through RapidSOS, RespondR securely shares critical information with first responders. When users install RespondR, they are prompted to fill out information such as:

  • Demographics
  • Allergies
  • Medications
  • Medical history & pre-existing conditions
  • Emergency contacts

When a RespondR user presses the Emergency Call button within the app, this critical data is used by first responders to reduce response times and protect lives.

What is RespondR looking forward to in this partnership?
The team at Parrot Health is excited to partner with RapidSOS because they are the trusted leader in public safety. By becoming RapidSOS Ready, RespondR is now the only personal safety app that can send digital data directly to 911 in an emergency. We are proud to support first responders as they protect lives every day. As we expand our product offerings, we look forward to continuing our groundbreaking work with the RapidSOS team.
