Alertus Technologies, a leader in emergency mass notification solutions, has announced the launch of “Alertus 911 Connect” in partnership with RapidSOS, a trusted intelligent safety platform used by over 21,000 first responder agencies across the U.S. This collaboration enables customers to directly contact emergency responders when activating their Alertus System, improving response times and situational awareness for first responders.
Alertus 911 Connect now offers Alertus’ Education and Commercial customers the ability to receive enhanced 911 response in fire, medical, or police emergencies. Users can activate their Alertus System via panic buttons, the Alertus Console, Alertus mobile apps, or third-party integrations and automatically notify emergency services through RapidSOS of an incident taking place at a school or a commercial building/facility. This enhances the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) process so that first responders can arrive on the scene faster and better informed.
Notably, Alertus 911 Connect allows K-12 schools to be compliant with Alyssa’s Law, as a growing list of states adopt requirements that public elementary and secondary schools install silent panic alarms or other emergency systems that can directly contact law enforcement in the event of a crisis.
