New York, NY — January 12, 2021 — RapidSOS today announced it has been named a winner in the 2021 BIG Innovation Awards presented by the Business Intelligence Group. The awards celebrate the organizations, products, and people that are bringing new ideas to life in innovative ways.
RapidSOS embodies this mission by bringing innovation to a service that is essential in today’s society – emergency response – as well as to the first responders and 911 telecommunicators that are tasked with protecting lives everyday.
Built in partnership with public safety, RapidSOS’s emergency response data platform securely and automatically links life-saving data from 350 million+ connected devices to over 5,200 Emergency Communications Centers nationwide. Emergency intelligence data, such as caller location, medical status, vehicle telematics, or alarm panel data is delivered directly to 911 and first responders through the RapidSOS Platform during an emergency. This life-saving information provides context to first responders beyond what the caller in crisis is able to convey over the phone and helps protect thousands of lives each year.
This year, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, RapidSOS launched the Emergency Health Profile Association in collaboration with the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, and Direct Relief, to offer families, communities, and first responders a way to protect themselves during the pandemic. The profiles allow people to share critical information about themselves that could be life-saving during an emergency. This information could include COVID-19 symptoms, allergies, medications, and more that first responders can access when the phone number tied to the profile calls 911.
“We’re honored to be named a winner of the 2021 BIG Innovation Awards,” said Michael Martin, Chief Executive Officer of RapidSOS. “We’re grateful to be recognized for our mission supporting first responders in managing over 250 million emergencies each year, and look forward to continuing to pioneer innovation in emergency response.”
“More than ever, the global society relies on innovation to help progress humanity and make our lives more productive, healthy and comfortable,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Operating Officer of the Business Intelligence Group. “We are thrilled to be honoring RapidSOS as they are one of the organizations leading this charge and helping humanity progress.”
Organizations from across the globe submitted their recent innovations for consideration in the BIG Innovation Awards. Nominations were then judged by a select group of business leaders and executives who volunteer their time and expertise to score submissions.
