We are excited to announce that RapidSOS was recently awarded an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Management System certificate. This certificate is for the Information Security Management System (ISMS) that secures managed information services, including the development, deployment, and maintenance of mobile applications and data application programming interfaces, while protecting the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of customer and employee information.
“Since our NG911 Clearinghouse platform interconnects into public safety systems, a commitment to following modern security best-practices has always been fundamental within our product development processes as we build highly available and highly scalable systems,” said Nick Horelik, RapidSOS CTO. “Receiving this ISO 27001 certification is just another step in an ongoing process to maintain and improve the security posture of our organization as a whole.”
To achieve the certification, RapidSOS was audited by indepedent audit firm SRI Quality System Registrar, an internationally accredited registrar for management systems standards. According to Edward L. Maschmeier, Associate Vice President, Certification: “We are pleased to acknowledge that RapidSOS has demonstrated effective implementation of a management system. ISO/IEC 27001 certification provides evidence to customer, suppliers, employees, and their community of their commitment to information security and customer satisfaction.”
