Whether it’s an unsafe moment or an emergency, RapidSOS Ready devices, homes, and buildings deliver essential data to the right place when it matters most. Through our partnerships with public safety, we connect data directly to RapidSOS Safety Agents, 911, and first responders to support the fastest, most informed incident response.

Today, thanks to the data provided by our partners through the RapidSOS intelligent safety platform, we’re sharing a few of the incredible stories of the lives saved by our public safety heroes.

Silent panic alarm prevents robbery at convenience store

Police made an arrest of a person who attempted to rob a convenience store and did not count on RapidSOS being there to prevent it. A store employee triggered a silent panic alarm, which was verified by a safety agent at their corporate operations center.

Through RapidSOS, the safety agent sent a Digital Alert to the store’s closest 911 center and was even able to share a photo of the intruder from the security camera. When police arrived on scene, they quickly identified the intruder and made an arrest.

RapidSOS integrations help rescue children in Madison, WI

At Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call from a female subject stating her children, ages 4 and 6, had fallen off a cliff at a state park. They were able to plot her exact location in RapidSOS and get her what3words coordinates, which were shared with first responders so they knew exactly where to go in the 5K+ acre state park.

Dispatch also used Prepared Live to have the caller show them where the two children were. They saw the 4yo next to the caller crying, and the 6yo injured and stranded on a rock ledge 50 ft above, leading them to page out for a cliff edge rescue. Thanks to the integration of RapidSOS, w3w, and Prepared, dispatchers saved two children that day.

Smartphone health data supports a save in Goshen, NY

At Orange County 911, a telecommunicator received a 911 call from someone struggling to breathe and unable to speak. The 911 telecommunicator used RapidSOS to pinpoint the caller’s location and view critical medical information provided by her smartphone’s health data.

The telecommunicator assessed the situation and determined the caller was having a severe asthma attack. He quickly dispatched an ambulance. It arrived within minutes and first responders began to treat the patient.

In-app feature keeps delivery driver safe on the road

A delivery driver was in a potentially unsafe location so she hit her panic button to connect to a RapidSOS Safety Agent. She said she was in the middle of a delivery but she was scared to get out of her car. The safety agent offered to stay on the line with her.

The driver went into an apartment complex to make the delivery and the agent stayed on the line with her until she was able to get back into her car and exit the complex. She thanked the agent and said that she had never used this service before, but was glad to have it.

Virtual assistant helps save grandmother in Sandusky, OH

At Erie County 911, dispatch received a call from a woman who was concerned about her grandmother. They asked her cell phone carrier to “ping” her phone to get a location, but it provided a 5mi radius. When dispatchers finally got a hold of the grandmother, she said she had been in a car wreck. They asked her to call 911 so they could get a more precise location, and she tried but was unable to do so.

They then told her to have her phone’s virtual assistant call 911 for her. She hung up and, 10 seconds later, RapidSOS pinged and then the 911 call rang in. RapidSOS gave dispatch her exact location at an intersection where her car had gone off the road. First responders extricated her from her car and took her to a local hospital.
